Sunday Meetings
What will you experience if come to a meeting at 10am on
Sunday?
We love praising God together in song - this is a great way
to start your day, so be sure to arrive on time so you don't miss out. After
the singing, the children go to Sunday School or crèche if they're still a
toddler.
During this time two or three members of our church will
talk about what has happened to them as a result of Jesus coming into their
lives. People are not asked in advance nor do they rehearse what they will say
- it is simply their story, told from their heart.
Living our lives according to God's Word is a fundamental
part of our life, and we enjoy hearing sound Bible-based ministry from one of
our pastors or leaders.
In Matthew 26:26-28 we read that Jesus asked us to remember
the sacrifice he made on our behalf by sharing communion.
We sing a hymn while the communion elements are distributed (the broken biscuit
and grape juice that represent Jesus Christ's body and His blood shed for us on
the cross).
The next part of our meeting was a normal part of
proceedings in the early Christian church but is not commonly experienced
today. The spiritual voice gifts are operated in an orderly way as directed in
1 Corinthians 14: 26- 40 - speaking in tongues, interpretation and prophecy -
which are inspired words of encouragement and direction to the church, and a
sign that God is present among the people.
Following this, we have a prayer line where people are
encouraged to come forward and pray with our pastors and leaders about any
difficulties or needs they may have, to ask for the Holy Spirit, or to pray for
others. Visitors are very welcome and encouraged to come forward for prayer.
Anyone who would like to commit their life to Jesus, will be
able to be baptised in our baptism tank (by full immersion) and are encouraged
to seek to be filled with God's Holy Spirit. This is a wonderful and powerful
experience and the start of a brand new overcoming life as a child of God.
At around 12pm, we have a great time having lunch together
in and around our second hall, before gathering again for another short meeting from 1pm-2pm.
